Exploration

Many of us have spent our lives living for other people. We have followed "The Script" of life to appease others and be deemed worthy enough for a seat at the proverbial table. Often, we make many concessions against our true selves without fully realizing the damage we do. We create internal conflict when we deny ourselves the freedom to be who we truly are and in the end, we pay a very high price for that dishonesty. We wake up one day and realize that many of our actions have come from a place of intense fear. We are afraid of being cast out, being shamed, blamed, dismissed and disliked. The truth of the matter is, this is where disease originates. When we are not in alignment with our true selves we suffer. We suffer emotionally, physically, psychologically, and spiritually. We wake up one day and realize we've become a footnote in someone else's story and never picked up the pen to write our own. It is at these times and these moments internal and external exploration become essential in our expansion as human beings. It is in the suffering and pain of becoming aware that we have lost ourselves that the true exploration of who we really are can begin. It is in this space that we can begin to practice courage in our daily lives.
